Kleptomania.. Etymology

 A kleptomaniac is a person who suffers from kleptomania, a mental health condition characterized by an irresistible, compulsive urge to steal items. Unlike typical thieves, kleptomaniacs do not steal for financial gain, personal use, or out of necessity. Instead, they steal simply to fulfill a psychological urge.

Word Origin  - the official version: 

The term comes from the Greek words kleptes (meaning "thief") and mania (meaning "madness" or "frenzy"). Colloquially, the shorthand slang term "klepto" is often used in informal speech
