Lost in translation: from Ka Ptah to Aegyptos, from Aten to Odin/Adonis — how non-native speakers shaped ancient languages

English has six plosive consonants: /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, and /g/.

Aegyptos, Egypt's name in Greek (not Egyptian), was originally Ka Ptah, meaning "the energy of Ptah." The two velar consonants, /k/ and /g/, were mixed up by non-native speakers.

From the same family of non-native speakers, the pairs /p/ and /b/, as well as /t/ and /d/, were also mixed up.

"ATENA" became "Adonai" and "Adana" (in Anatolia), while "Aten" became ''Odin''and "Adonis."

"Papa" (father in European languages) became "baba."

''Amat'' (mother in ancient Egyptian) became ''ima''.

The consonants /r/ and /l/ are also pairs. /r/ became /l/ in some cases, i.e. RA became ''lion'' (which is a false association, Ra is a tigress).

By the looks of it, it is highly likely that the Adams were only learning to speak! And that was c. 2,300 years ago.

And now they have the nerve to claim they contributed to civilisation. HOW? They destroyed it.
