Biden, Trump, Israel

"I am a Zionist. You don't have to be a Jew to be a Zionist." ~Joe Biden, said on April 4, 2007

Joe Biden made this well-known declaration during a 2007 interview on Shalom TV. The quote is frequently cited to highlight his long-standing, public support for Israel.

"I'm right now at 99% in Israel. I could run for prime minister, so maybe after I do this, I'll go to Israel and run for prime minister." ~Donald Trump, said on May 20, 2026

Conservative radio talk show host and commentator Mark Levin gave Donald Trump this moniker during a White House Hanukkah reception. He originally said it in December 2019 and later updated the phrase at another White House event in December 2025

"It's an honor to be here with the first Jewish President of the United States. And if he isn't, he should be."

"Six years ago, I was up here, and I said, 'This is our first Jewish president.' Now, he's the first Jewish president to serve two non-consecutive presidencies."

Donald Trump explicitly stated he has been loyal to Israel in two major instances: during a detailed foreign policy interview in April 2024, and during an early campaign event in May 2015

When asked by Time Magazine if he would go to war to protect the nation, Trump responded on April 12, 2024

I have been very loyal to Israel, more loyal than any other president. I've done more for Israel than any other president. Yeah, I will protect Israel.”

Years earlier, at a South Carolina Freedom Summit on May 9, 2015, Trump laid out his lifelong commitment:

"The only [candidate] that's going to give real support to Israel is me... I've been loyal to Israel from the day I was born. My father, Fred Trump, was loyal to Israel before me."
