Mercedes. Etymology

 The name "Mercedes" originates from the Spanish given name María de las Mercedes, meaning "mercies". It stems from the Latin word merces or mercedem, which originally meant "wages, reward, or hire" 

Mer + Te (lands of Matria > Mari/Meri) Mer + Te = Ta Meri/Mari = Egypt's name. Tamara is derived from these combinations.
