The Sea of Azov, the shallowest sea and submerged settlements over 7000 years old

 The Sea of Azov is relatively young in geological terms, having formed approximately 7,000 to 8,000 years ago. Its maximum depth is around 14 meters, with an average depth of about 7 meters, making it the shallowest sea in the world. 

 

 Tanais River is the present day Don. ATANA > TANAIS > TON> DON River. 

Why is this important? Because of its shallow depths, and the fact that the last 7 meters of sea level rise are dated to c 7000 years ago (or over that). This is important, because all settlements submerged under the Black Sea are over 7000 years old.
