It always falls 10 days after Rosh Hashanah and concludes the Ten Days of Repentance

 Scapegoat ritual: Two identical goats were chosen:

  1. One was sacrificed to God.
  2. The other (the “scapegoat”) had the sins of the people symbolically placed upon it and was sent into the wilderness (Azazel).

The Animal Sacrificed (Historical)

  • A goat – sacrificed as a sin offering for the people.
  • A second goat – the scapegoat, not killed but sent into the desert bearing the nation’s sins.

 The name is linked to TWO GOATS. 

And it indicates Capricorn conjunct Capricorn. The exact conjunction happened 1,500 years ago.

  • Tzen is 10 in Yiddish.
