Ara Constellation - the Altar, Titanomachy
ARA - the Altar of the Gods in the Titanomachy
The most widely accepted and commonly cited myth associates Ara constellation with the Titanomachy, the epic war between the Olympian gods (led by Zeus) and the Titans (led by Cronus).
The gods used this altar to swear oaths, make sacrifices, and form an alliance before battling the Titans. This story is referenced in ancient sources like Eratosthenes and Manilius, and echoed in modern astronomy sites
Alternative or Related Myths
- Lycaon's Altar: In another version, Ara represents the altar of King Lycaon of Arcadia, who tested Zeus by serving him human flesh (a dismembered child - Epstein connection + Set and Osiris). Zeus punished Lycaon by turning him into a wolf (linking to nearby Lupus constellation) or striking him with lightning.
- Centaurus and Lupus Connection: Ara is sometimes depicted as the altar where the centaur (Centaurus) sacrifices the wolf/beast (Lupus), tying into sacrificial themes.
Ara is adjacent (sharing borders with) both Scorpius (the Scorpion) and Pavo (the Peacock).
This is why ancient sources often describe Ara as "under the scorpion's tail."
Ara (Scorpio for easy calculations) conjunct Virgo 3 = Titanomachy. Orion conjunct Aries 0 = It was the Age of Titans (Rhea = Orion = the giant in the sky) for Terra (about 5.8kya).
